Outburst Queer Arts Festival presented an exhibition of works from Ukrainian artist Anton Shebetko, in partnership with Catalyst Arts, Belfast.

Exhibition ‘What Grows in the Heart’ took place at Outburst Queer Arts Festival
The Ukrainian Institute's programme Transmission.ua: Drama on the Move was developed to support translations, promotion and production of modern Ukrainian drama in Europe. In 2020-2022, the focus is on Poland, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
The UK focus 'Transmission.UK' is implemented as part of the UK/Ukraine Season of Culture, with the support of the British Council, in cooperation with London's Royal Court Theatre and the Center for Contemporary Theatre of Birkbeck, University in London.

5 Ukrainian plays were translated into English. Transmission.UK
The first plans for a major cultural festival to take place alongside Eurovision have been announced and artists and creatives from all competing nations are encouraged to get involved. 
It’s a little over a month since Liverpool was named as the 2023 host city for the Eurovision Song Contest, staging the global event on behalf of Ukraine.

Artists, Creatives and Dreamers – this is Liverpool Calling…
In October, a digital writer's residency from the University of Chichester, the Rathbones Folio Prize and the Stephen Spender Trust started. Ukrainian writer Volodymyr Rafeienko is a participant of the residency; he will be sharing his experience and knowledge with students as part of the UK/Ukraine Season of Culture, organised jointly by the British Council and the Ukrainian Institute.

Ukrainian films to be screened across the UK this November
On October 20-21, a series of discussions “Mapping Ukraine in the Museum World: Collections and Practices” was held online. During two consecutive days, experts discussed the place of Ukraine in the decolonization processes of museum institutions. The event was organised jointly with Birkbeck College, University of London, as part of the UK/Ukraine Season of Culture, designed by the Ukrainian Institute and the British Council.

Mapping Ukraine in Museums: discussion program jointly with Birkbeck University
Ukraine Day – by the Kyiv-based International Book Arsenal Festival, co-curated with the Cheltenham Literature Festival – was observed on 11 October, as a part of the UK/Ukraine Season of Culture produced by the British Council and the Ukrainian Institute. This year’s Cheltenham Literature Festival took place from 7 to 16 October in the UK’s north-western city of Cheltenham and presented a diverse programme of activities and events with leading figures of the world’s literary sector.

After Russia’s full-scale invasion has compromised the global system of security, the value of Ukrainian knowledge and experience can no longer be dismissed. The urgency to learn from Ukraine is now existential for the rest of the world. The Ukraine Lab writing residency has provided such an opportunity for six emerging writers from Ukraine and the UK.

HCMF, the UK's largest international festival of new and experimental music, will present a Ukrainian programme. This year, the festival opens with the powerful multimedia opera 'Chernobyldorf'. Ukrainian performances will take place in Huddersfield from 18 to 27 November as part of the UK/Ukraine Season of Culture, created jointly by the British Council and the Ukrainian Institute.

Ukrainian programme at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival
The participants of the Ukrainian workshop within the International Literary Translation & Creative Writing Summer School by British Center for Literary Translation (BCLT) have shared the result of their final work – translation of an excerpt from Artem Chekh's book ‘Who Are You?’. The virtual workshop took place 18-22 July 2022 as part of the UK/Ukraine Season of Culture.
